Program announcement

Bring your inner child to the December program as Constance Anderson discusses her newest book, So Many Ways To Be a Bird, an award finalist book for children’s non-fiction, which explores the surprising world of bird adaptation where each egg, beak and wing has a unique story.

The book reveals how, over time, birds have brilliantly adapted to a changing environment which is why there is such a variety of bird sizes and colors, bird wings, nests and eggs, and bird beaks, feet, and feathers. Constance’s vibrant collage illustrations throughout the book help readers identify birds, and inspire protection for them.

So Many Ways To Be a Bird follows Constance’s, A Stick Until, a picture book story as well as a science journal about animal tool use, and Smelling Sunshine, a picture book that celebrates the connection among people of diverse backgrounds in the simple act of hanging laundry with someone you love.

Join us as author, illustrator and naturalist Constance Anderson shares her love of birds and her desire to connect people to one another and to the environment.
